Best ASMR Microphone for iPhone

Top ASMR Microphones Compatible with Your iPhone

You’re looking to save by using your iPhone to record ASMR content, smart. With the advancements in smartphone camera technology, iPhones are now more than capable of capturing professional video.

Additionally, using your iPhone to film and record audio for your ASMR videos means you don’t have to sync your audio and video in post production.

However, what about audio?

With the introduction of the iPhone 15 in 2023, iPhones no longer features a lightning port. Instead, new iPhones have USB-C ports.

Depending on what iPhone model you have, your needs will vary. Please click below to see the best ASMR microphones compatible with your iPhone.

However, no dedicated iPhone microphones are really the “best”. A lot of audio quality sacrifices are made to make small microphones that “plug-and-play” with your iPhone. If you’re truly after the best audio quality, please read more here.

The Actual Best ASMR iPhone Mic

I’m sure you’ve heard of the Blue Yeti microphone.

If you don’t know it by name, you have absolutely seen it in other ASMRtist’s videos.

Since 2009, the Blue Yeti has been the best selling USB microphone on the market…and for good reason.

It sounds great, has very low noise, is affordable, and had a ton of polar pattern options to choose from, including stereo.

Below is a sound sample playlist from Gibi ASMR using her Blue Yeti.

But How Do You Use It With an iPhone?

With a few accessories, you can easily record with the Blue Yeti straight into your phone!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Blue Yeti Microphone

  2. Lightning to USB Adapter

    -OR-

  3. USB-C to USB Adapter

  4. Sabrent USB Hub with Power Adapter - Used to power the Blue Yeti Microphone (the power from your phone alone is not enough).

Here’s a great tutorial video showing you how to connect everything together:

Using this technique, you can use most USB microphones with your iPhone.

While I don’t do ASMR, I own a Blue Yeti and love its sound quality for voice over work.

And I’ll admit, I have played with the stereo setting to give myself an ASMR experience while brushing the metal grill.
