Field Recording Gear Guides
When I first started field recording, the process was overwhelming. There weren’t many resources online and I didn’t know where to start.
To help others with this process, I’ve created many articles that teach the basics of field recording gear and terminology to help you learn everything you need to know before making a purchase.

SOUND STORIES:
I left a recorder deep in the wilderness to listen for me—day and night, through every season, untouched by human presence. For the next year, it will capture the shifting language of a single place: birdsong and wind, rain and silence, life and stillness. Each month, I’ll return to swap batteries and cards, but also to camp, observe, and slowly get to know this landscape for myself. This is a different kind of recording—not one driven by control, but by trust, time, and the belief that some stories are only told through long, quiet listening.
